Hard at work

We have been hard at work for two days in the villages. We have been welcomed so warmly by the people of Cebu and they are very receptive and grateful of our presence. Yesterday we saw 32 patients in the dental clinic and I assisted in suctioning, can't say that I found my "inner dentist", but I definitely learned a lot. Today, my group worked in the classrooms of Mabini. We had to be flexible as we were supposed to do one anti-bully workshop and ended up doing four presentations! I am enjoying every minute of this trip and soaking up as much as I can. As we are teaching the students, we are also learning so much from them. ~Emilie

  2. Wow!!! This is amazing!!! You are all doing such great work, how I miss ISLP and I wish I could be there! I am so happy to see the program expanded like this, it's so great and refreshing. One more way UofL is making a significant difference in another community to make the world a better place. I'm such a proud ISLP and UofL alum!

I saw the link on Jay's Facebook and was so happy to see the pictures, I hope everyone is doing well. I'm doing well, Lebanon's great! You should come by sometime, you're already in Asia!

I'll definitely keep up with the blog, Dr. Foster, Margaret, Kandi, Bryan, Emili, Jenn, OJ, Jay, Melvin, Rachel, and anyone else I may have missed that I know, keep up the good work, and just know that Socio will always be with you in spirit! :)

    ISLP alum,

P.S. Seeing as to what time of the year it is, I'm happy that Santa's in the Philippines!

  3. HI MOM! It looks like you guys are doing great work there. It sounds like an awesome place. We miss you here. I watered the plants but they are pretty sad looking. You forgot to leave me a list of to do's so if you think of something just send me a message. I am sure you heard that Max got an "ouchie" from your sofa table that required 3 stitches on his birthday. Oh well!! I am suprised that he was 3 before his first ER visit. Have a great trip and take care!

    Hi Caytie!!

    Love,
    Jenn
